Shaweet! What brand tires?

I’ve got my Yokohama Iceguards going on the Stang tomorrow.

These are apparently called Pirelli Winter Carving Edge. I’m not familiar with them, but I’m hoping they’re longer lasting than the Sottozeros I used a couple years ago.

What I can say so far after driving around town, compared to the Sottozeros, which were performance winter tires, these are more winter tires.

Never heard of Winter Carving Edge before.

Yea, my Ice Guards should be pretty “wintery” Not going to get a lot of performance from them. And that’s probably a good thing.

I still have my stock Pirelli’s all seasons on the stock wheels. They seem decent for daily driving, so I’ll probably use them again next summer. It would cool to have a set of staggered PP2 wheels and summer only tir es.

But a new wheelset & tires ain’t cheap - and frankly I’d rather save for a set of Steeda shocks & springs. The non-power pack suspension is pretty soft.

Anyway, your blue stang looks great.

Neither have I but so far, they feel and drive like I assume truck or Jeep tires would drive. The tire/road noise is like a droning white noise in the background. I take that to mean they’ll be exceptional in the snow.

I’ve got Firestone Indy 500s as my summer tire. The original Pirelli P-Zeros were alright at the very limit on a track day, but they wore out too fast for street driving. The Indy 500s with 20mm extra tire (255 vs 275) I hope will make up for the loss in stickiness, but I won’t know until next summer. I use the stock wheels for winter and SVE wheels for summer.

I personally got the Steeda Sport Progressives and they’re great with the performance pack suspension. Not sure how they’ll react to the regular suspension.

Thanks! I take it you’ve also got an S550?

Yup - 2019 GT convertible. Ruby red, tan interior, 3.55 rear, active exhaust, 10 speed auto. It’s a quick car, that’s for sure.

Very nice! Tho, if I remember right, Virginia isn’t the most “speed friendly” state.

Thanks!

VA is terrible when it comes to speeding. I think 20 and over can be classified as cl ass 1 misdemeanor . The same thing as waving a gun at someone. And radar detectors are illegal . My tin foil hat self says it’s all a money making racket for the courts and lawyers.

I do have to watch my speed; it’s easy to hit triple digits if you’re over-e nthusiastic with the go pedal.
